Who was Madonna?

She was born as Madonna Louise Ciccone.

He is an American singer actress and songwriter.

She is famously known as “Queen of Pop“. Madonna is not just a Queen of pop,  someone who is versatile  in music production, songwriting and even visual presentation.

Her fame began in the 20th and 21st centuries.

She moved to the USA back in 1978. She did this in order to pursue dancing as a career.

Madonna performed as a drummer,vocalist and guitarist with the famous rock band by name Breakfast Club.

The famous singer is a mother of 6. She admitted in an interview with Vanity Fair in 2023 that she is a mother of 6.

She further disclosed that motherhood is not easy and that she is still studying how to be a mother.

She said: “has been the most difficult, the hardest battle.”

“Today I am still struggling to understand how to be a mother and do my job.”

“Because, whoever you are, having children and raising them is a work of art,” she continued. “And no one gives you a manual. You have to learn from mistakes. It is a profession that requires a lot of time. And it is exhausting because there is never rest.”

Her first child is her daughter Lourdes.

She was born as Lourdes Leon. She shared her with her Carlos Leon, her fitness trainer husband.

Lourdes Leon is a a fashion model and even worked with celebrity figures like Rihana, Marc Jacobs and many more.

Madonna second child is Rocco.

Rocco Ritchie is Madonna’s second child. He was born on 11 August,2000.

He is the son of Guy Ritchie whom Madonna dated as far back in 1998.

The pair finally got married in 2000 specifically in December.

That marriage did not last long, only lasting for 8 years. Rocco Ritchie is a product of that marriage.

Rocco Ritchie described her mother as a good in an interview for Ellen DeGeneres.

Madonna third child is David.

David Banda is an adopted child of the famous singer. David Banda was born in Malawi on 24 September,2005.

Madonna founded her Raising Malawi, a charitable organization in Malawi in 2006.

Madonna took a trip to the country back in 2006 and that was how she adopted David Banda.

He was adopted from the Home of Hope orphanage. This was done in agreement with her then husband Guy Ritchie.

It was a legal issue given that the country requires parents of adopted children to resident in the country for at least 18 months.

The adoption was finally adopted in 2008.

Madonna second child is called Chifundo “Mercy” James.

She was born on Jan. 22, 2006.She was adopted after her divorce from her then husband Guy Ritchie.

She applied to adopt Mercy in 2009, but now from an orphanage in Blantyre.

The adoption which started in May,2009 was finally approved in June,2009 after an initial hitch.

Stella and Estere

The twins Stella and Estere are her 5th and 6th children respectively.

It looks like Madonna has much love for children. With two of her biological children,she has gone ahead to adopt three more children even as a single mother.

Only two of her children are her biological children while the remaining four are adopted children.

Interestingly, the four are all from Malawi and they are one male and four females.

It is not surprising that she said in an Interview in January that motherhood is difficult and that she is still studying as a mother.
