Who was Catherine Henry?

Sh was a 62 year old woman from Dundalk. She died in what has been described as violent assault and had “blunt-force”.

Catherine Henry was found  in a pool of blood. She was assaulted at home  and was discovered with a face down.

The Dundalk woman residence was  in Bridge Street, Dundalk in Co Louth  and the sad incident happened on Wednesday evening.

Her death has now been upgraded to a murder probe.

A source  is quoted to have said: “There is evidence which suggests that this was much more sinister than a fall.

“The nature of the injuries suffered by the woman appear to have been inflicted but the post mortem establish how exactly she died.

“As it stands, gardai are treating it as very suspicious and murder investigation level resources have been allocated”.

Who is the suspect to Catherine Henry?

A person of interest has been identified. This suspect is said to be someone who is known to her.

Gardai are said to be keeping an open mind in their investigation.

It is not clear why the suspect will someone who is not known.

They will also go through any text messages and social media to help assist in the case.

Ms Henry was not too well-known in the Dundalk town area.

One person said: “I’d see her on the street sometimes and I’d say hi but aside from that, I just don’t know her.”

Another added: “I heard the news this morning but I have been down the town and back and no one seems to know her at all. And no one really knows what happened to her either.”
