He appeared in court today(Friday) and pleaded “not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder and other charges”.
The suspect is the owner as well as founder of the Midtown architecture firm by name RH Consultants and Associates.
His firms clients include “Catholic Charities, NYC-DEP Sewerage Treatment, and American airlines”.
What is the Gilgo killings which Rex Heuermann has been charged?
The Gilgo killings refers to the killing of four women back in 2010.
The women were found wrapped in what has been described as in “burlap”.
The bodies of the women were found within days of each other.
How was Rex Heuermann linked to the murder and how was this linkage established leading to his arrest?
His linkage to the Gilgo killings was established through the DNA from the hair of victim Megan Waterman which matched with that of Heuermann.

The DNA of Heuermann was taken by investigators from a discarded pizza crust of Heuermann in January.


The New York Post also named other things that connects him to the crime.
The post documents show that Cellphone bills which are linked to Heuermann showed that the suspect used a burner phone to meet up with three of the four victims.
The 59 year old Heuermann is also linked to a particular cellphone which is on a surveillance video.
He allegedly bought the device from a store in Midtown Manhattan.
Other documents relating the 59 year old to the murder include :”A burner phone allegedly used by Heuermann placed a menacing call to victim Melissa Barthelemy’s relative after her death”.sted Thursday after cops had staked out his home on 1st Avenue in Massapequa Park, Long Island, and office in midtown Manhattan.
