The 43 year old who was breaking up rocks at property at a site at Bloody Forelands in Gaoth Dobhair.
Gardai along with emergency service providers rushed to the scene and had to even sealed off the place.
His body was later taken to Letterkenny University Hospital where it is expected that a post mortem is due to take place.

The exact details of how the 43 year old died is not still clear.
A Gardai spokesperson said “Gardaí are currently at the scene of an apparent explosion at a location on the outskirts of Bunbeg, Co. Donegal this afternoon Monday, 29th May 2023.
“An Garda Síochána has evacuated the surrounding area and the Irish Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal has been requested. The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place. The Health and Safety Authority have been notified.”
