A woman in her 70s has died in a single vehicle crash in Clare. This happened on Sunday’s evening.
The incident happened around 9.20pm around the townland of Ballinagun which is not far from Kilrush which is located in Co Clare.

The woman’s car is said to have collided with a ditch. This resulted in a significant damage to the car
She was confirmed dead at the scene and the body taken to University Hospital,Limerick. It is expected that a post Mortem examination will be done on her body.

Gardaí have since confirmed the incident in a statement. Their statement added that:
“The R483 remains closed this morning pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.”
They further called on witnesses to come forward indicating that:”Any road users who were travelling in the area of Ballinagun and Cree, Co. Clare yesterday evening between 8.45pm and 9.45pm and who may have camera footage (including dash cam), is asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.”
